YAWA is an organization focused on “Greening for a Sustainable Future.” They have developed a comprehensive set of modules designed to instill a profound sense of environmental responsibility and belonging. Through their various activities, they aim to encourage individuals to take action toward sustainability, emphasizing a balanced approach that addresses environmental, economic, and social aspects while safeguarding the natural environment and enhancing the quality of life for all.

Their activities include:

1. Acclimatisation projects: These projects engage young people in hands-on, non-confrontational activities that bring them closer to nature.

2. Eco-Camping projects: YAWA introduces beginners to camping at their eco-campsite in Rincing Hilir, Bangi.

3. Conservation Studies: YAWA collaborates with environmental organizations such as the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), Malaysia Nature Society (MNS), and Sea Turtle Rescue Unit (SEATRU) to promote conservation efforts.

4. Community Involvement: YAWA works closely with diverse communities and children from all backgrounds to achieve their environmental objectives.

5. Eco-Expression: YAWA documents the work accomplished by children through various forms of artistic expression, reports, poems, and records, which are compiled in an information kit called “Share the Planet.”

Their overarching goals include:

– Guiding young people to become responsible adults committed to environmental protection.
– Instilling a sense of responsibility in young individuals to value the Earth as their heritage through education and good practices.
