Pertubuhan Medifund Kuala Lumpur (PMKL) is dedicated to providing Day Care Dialysis Treatment to underprivileged Malaysian patients in the Ampang area. Their team, consisting of a manager, nurse, and two assistants, works tirelessly to support those in need.

End-Stage Renal Failure affects over 2,000 Malaysians annually, with many unable to afford private hospital charges, often reaching up to RM2,000 per month. Government hospital treatment might also be unavailable. PMKL recognizes the challenges faced by these patients, especially in terms of transportation for frequent dialysis sessions.

PMKL’s goal is to make dialysis treatments more accessible and affordable to average Malaysians by establishing additional Dialysis Centres in various areas. The Ampang center currently operates with ten Dialysis Machines (with a maximum capacity of 18), catering to up to 60 patients daily. They charge patients a minimal RM60 per visit and provide a comfortable environment with sofa chairs and TVs during treatments. Medication costs are passed on at the actual price, while doctors’ services are provided free of charge.

The PMKL centre in Ampang is conveniently accessible by public transport and offers parking in the adjacent shopping center.

PMKL’s monthly operational costs amount to RM20,000, which they cover through fundraising efforts, with only a RM50 government subsidy per treatment. They require volunteers, particularly medical professionals like doctors, nurses, and therapists. Additionally, they welcome volunteers for fundraising initiatives and assistance in patient transport. Donations of medical equipment are also appreciated.

PMKL continuously seeks funds to subsidize dialysis treatment costs and expand their centers to serve more patients. They greatly appreciate any donations. Cheques should be made payable to “Pertubuhan Medifund Kuala Lumpur.”

Mereka sangat menghargai sebarang sumbangan. Cek sepatutnya dibayar kepada “Pertubuhan Medifund Kuala Lumpur.”
