Laughter Yoga Malaysia (马来西亚大笑瑜伽) runs under the umbrella of the Johor Bahru Happy & Joyous Club since August 2008. It is a registered non-governmental organization (NGO) in Malaysia.

Lee-Jean, a certified laughter yoga teacher, trained by Dr Madan brought Laughter Yoga to Johor Bahru (JB), the capital city of Johor, Malaysia. Her first Certified Laughter Yoga Leader program was conducted in Sept 2008 and till date, 38 of such programs had materialized. More than 500 Certified Laughter Yoga Leaders had graduated, hailing from various states of Malaysia including Johor, Malacca, Selangor, Wilayah (Kuala Lumpur), Pahang, Penang, Sarawak and the countries of Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand.

The first Laughter group was formed in 16th September 2008 within the Breast Cancer Support Group of Johor Bahru. There were many such groups that meet regularly for Laughter Yoga sessions in the mornings. In the current pandemic situation, daily Zoom Laughter sessions are being carried out since March 2010.

Laughter has been much sought after in Malaysia. To facilitate the sharing and spreading of Laughter Yoga to Malaysians, the formation of Johor Bahru Happy & Joyous Club materialized. The members has shared laughter with the Rotarians, Toastmasters, Lions, schools, universities, hospitals and many other NGOs. They regularly participate in the annual JB Arts Festivals, charity events organized by NGOs, hospitals.

The Johor Bahru World Laughter Day was celebrated since 2009. The first held on 3rd May 2009 saw more than 70 participants and the second on 2nd May 2010 attracted about 400. These events were media attention and this annual event promise fun to all who turn up.

Johor Bahru Happy and Joyous Club had invited Dr. Madan Kataria & Madhuri to Malaysia twice in 2011 & the 1st Malaysian Laughter Yoga Conference in 2016.

Now, daily Zoom Laughter is organized by Johor Bahru Happy and Joyous Club for the benefits of the public both locally and internationally since March 2020.
