Shelter Home for (Abused) Women and Children is a registered non-governmental, non-profit organization situated in a three-story building, made possible by generous donations from corporate bodies, government entities, non-governmental organizations, foundations, and well-wishers.

This home operates with a dedicated group of volunteers, including the chairperson, an advisory board, a committee, and 12 counselors. Additionally, there are four salaried staff members, consisting of a house administrator, two housekeepers, and a part-time gardener. The number of dependents residing in the home varies as the shelter provided is temporary. Once individuals regain their independence and confidence, they are encouraged to leave and pursue independent living, with the home offering ongoing support and follow-up visits.

Aims:
1. Provide support to victims of domestic violence.
2. Serve as a refuge for those in need, offering shelter, protection, care, and emotional support.
3. Raise awareness about domestic violence issues within the community.
4. Foster a spirit of voluntarism and compassion in the community.

The home offers temporary placement and shelter for women and children who are victims of domestic violence and have nowhere else to turn, regardless of their race or religion. It provides counseling for both in-house residents and walk-in victims, as well as telephone counseling for those not residing in the home who require assistance.

Needs:
– Food and toiletries
– Cash donations for utilities and detergents
– Urgent requirements: Two desktop computers, security enhancements, and CCTV installation for residents’ protection
– Insufficient funds for utilities, unscheduled maintenance, and workers (gardeners, cleaners, etc.)

Volunteers are welcome, and the public can assist by informing victims about the home and reporting abuse incidents to them. Night wardens (both male and female) are needed for safety.

The home greatly appreciates all donations, regardless of the amount, to support its operations. Donations can be made via checks payable to “Shelter Home for (Abused) Women and Children, Seremban” or cash donations to their Standard Chartered Bank account.
