To be an effective, caring and self-reliant NGO in the field of population, family planning and sexual and reproductive health and To improve the status of sexual and reproductive health in Malaysia within a strong and resilient family system. Broaden the scope of family planning and reproductive health services and intensified our out-reach programmes to better serve the disadvantaged communities. As one of the three main national agencies in family planning and reproductive health, we annually serve almost one-quarter of the new and one-sixth of continuing acceptors for family planning.
What does the organisation do?
Our three goals and corresponding strategies focus on Advocacy, Programme management and Governance and management to address the ten strategic challenges/issues. These challenges relate to reproductive rights and sexual and reproductive health for women, men and young people with focus on family planning, safe motherhood, HIV/AIDS, empowerment of young people on SRH, gender equity and equality, male responsibility and participation, sustainable development and strengthening of our organisational structure. Inform, educate and communicate to women on positive and responsible ways to take care of their sexual and reproductive health through campaigns, exhibitions and talks. We also promote to men their responsibility towards sexual and reproductive health. Educate women so that they can make decisions that benefit their socio-economic status and their general and reproductive health. We also promote greater gender equity and equality where opportunities are provided to develop women to take on decision-making roles at all levels.
Opportunities for Youth
We give Family Life Education to youths by providing accurate information and living skills to youths in human sexuality and family life. Youths can receive counselling and learn about leadership, assertiveness and negotiation. Youths who learn from our youth-friendly educators can also make better responsible choices on issues such as dating and substance abuse. They can become peer educators to help their friends who are in trouble. We train youths through training camps and now e-learning classes.
