The Malaysian Independent Animal Rescue (MIAR) is a non-profit, no-kill, volunteer dog rescue organization serving the Selangor area in Malaysia. They are dedicated to rescuing dogs left homeless for various reasons, including those in public pounds at high risk of euthanasia due to pet overpopulation, dogs given up by their owners because of difficult circumstances, and those in danger of abuse or neglect.
MIAR places dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Animals in their care are spayed or neutered, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and await placement in their permanent homes.
They are always in need of assistance to continue running their shelter and to rescue more dogs and cats. As most of their rescue animals are seriously injured, their monthly vet bill is very high. They currently need funds to build a proper shelter for their rescued animals. You can make a donation through their website.
