Provides service to the elderly to enable our elders to live in dignity and to provide necessary support for them. We want to promote to them a sense of belonging, a sense of security and a sense of worthiness.

To promote the well-being of elders in all aspects of their life through the provision of a wide spectrum of services which will enable them to remain living in the community for as long as possible.

ABOUT PKCRS

Founded in September 2009, Pertubuhan Kebajikan Chester Rawang Selangor (PKCRS) is a non-profit, non government, voluntary organization dedicated to enriching the lives of seniors by showing kindness and joy!

PKCRS is an organization that is dedicated to provide happiness to the elderly. We have always been passionate about giving back and helping others, especially the elderly. PKCR is all out and is eager to make a difference for the elderly community. PRCRS’s focus and thoughts are finding ways and ideas about what can be done to touch the lives of the elderly; a group people who could greatly benefit from additional tender, loving kindness.

PKCRS provides extra service like, DAY CARE for the elderly and special children as an alternative means of support to the family caregivers.

The home currently accommodates 38 residents, of which 21 males and 17 females. Most of PKCRS residents are referred from Welfare groups and government hospitals.

PKCRS also provides the following basic services for their elderly:

accommodation within shared rooms;
provision of at least 3 healthy meals a day plus snacks;
administration and supervision of medication;
staff on duty 24 hours per day;
provision of social work service (e.g. assessment, counseling, referrals, programme activities, etc.);
personal care services, including assistance with activities of daily living;
activities organized on a regular basis to meet the social and recreational needs of residents, to encourage residents to pursue their interests, and to maintain residents’ contact with the community and families.
OUR VISION

Although request from Welfare groups and Government hospitals to take in more elderly abundant people into PKCRS is increasing day by day., we are unable to accommodate their request due to space constrain. The space at our home is undeniably limited, as our 5 helpers are also living in the home to provide help and support to the residents , thus the total number of people living in the home has stretched to 43.

We are proposing to find a bigger and spacious premise to accommodate more residents and also to provide nursing care such as;

Doctor on duty
General Nursing Care
Basic Wound Management
Nursing Procedures
Patient Hygiene Management
Physiotherapy
Acupuncture etc…

PKCRS hopes to buy a van to transport residents from the home to hospital for their routine check-ups and appointments and also in case of any emergencies.

With all these facilities, PKCRS intends to open its doors to neighbouring residents who are poor to seek medical help.

Our objectives have always been to show love and care. Many elderly people have no one to care, to look after and to show love to them. We need help in providing and to keep supporting the elderly with the love and appreciation they deserve.
